Valentine’s Day Skiing February 14, 2009

Filed under: Ski Conditions — grothomas @ 2:22 pm

What could be a better way to celebrate your love? Take a ski around Crooked Tree Trail or if you’re feeling a little jaded or adventuresome probobally a taste of Twisted Creek would be up your alley. The Blue Trail is in excellent shape-plenty of new snow in the track to provide good grip, reasonable poling and glide is fair to good. And if bushwhacking is your cup of tea there is plenty of body and grip, and lots of snow cover to go anywhere Don’t let the ice in town keep you from the smooth sailing up the hill.

I think a map would be wonderful. It would be really nice if it could include the names of the landmarks that are well known to longtime Sackville skiers, but a mystery to the rest of us.

I think if someone with a GPS (Ian Dennis??) skiied the trails, it could be possible to upload the tracks to GoogleEarth fairly readily.

    Hi there,

We are fairly new to skiing in the area and we were wondering if there is a map that indicates the names and locations of the trails near the reservoir.

    thanks!

    Hi –
On Saturday the snowmobile trails are generally; fast and groomed with a mix of powder and crumbly stuff.
The ATV trails are badly rutted with ice patches – fun for skijor, probably not so good for skiing.
