Concerns have been raised about the cable by the driveway going into Doncaster’s property at the  pond. This is meant to dissuade ATV’s from entering and should remain up at all times. It is easy to duck under, or unhook and hook up again if bending isn’t your forté.
Donnie Doncaster remains very supportive ,as he always has, of skiers crossing his property and using the trails there on.
All the ski trails after crossing the Access Rd are on private lands and our use of them is by the consent of the landowners. Please be respectful of this. If you do accost motorized vehicles on the trails to discourage them from being on them, it is usually a good idea to make sure it is not the owner you are admonishing.
Finally, with the dusting of snow last night the trails should be very skiable- likely a violet wax or waxles skis would work today.

See Facebook page for details of yesterdays grooming.

This is trailwork season. If you are interested in spending time in the woods sawing and hacking and admiring fall beauty when no one is looking, let Ross Thomas know and he will add you to the trails list. If you were on the list last year, you are already on it for this year.

We have a few bridges to construct, some levelling to do, and hopefully finish off the board and batoning at the Sugar Brook Lodge.

Wear a reflecto vest.  We have some if needed.

Sean Blaney will lead a trip to view wild flowers on Saturday, 4 June along the ski trails at Walker Road, Sackville. This will also be an opportunity to observe woodland birds. Meet at the reservoir gate on Walker Road at 8:00 AMSaturday morning. This is a half day trip but taking snacks and water is advised. As always, take field guides as desired and strong footwear.

Directions: Take the Walker Road exit from Route 2 (the Trans Canada Highway) approximately 3 km north west of Sackville. Coming from Sackville turn left at the end of the highway ramp. Coming from Moncton or other points north or west, turn right at the end of the ramp. Proceed several hundred meters to the reservoir gate on the left (just past the end of the pavement).
– Hope to see you there,

And just a reminder, in case you missed it, that there is an “al” in “naturalist” so don’t just show up wearing DEET.
