Last nights dusting has slowed things down- glide is still 2.5/3 but the new snow will make snow plowing possible. Most skis will grip nicely, and the moderates temps will have folks discarding layers. Best skiing is on Yellow, LeRond and Blue, avoiding the Smith Camp hills by taking the new, unnamed (Seniors?) Bypass, which though not groomable yet due to some remaining large stumps, is quite negotiable with one small hill you can walk down. I would be very cautious on hills toward Don Pond and into Smith camp which have bare areas and no track. I suspect CTT is also trackless but could be skate skiied If the sun comes out and the temps approach freezing, sticky may result so take a scraper. Here is Kevin’s the latest ice report from yesterday. If venturing out on the Lake you should carry ice picks, rope, dry clothes and a friend or two.
*Silver Lake [New Brunswick]*
Well skateable | Own skating *Ice info:* Completely ice covered (> 95%) *Skating surface:* Hard, mainly even, free from snow, no surface debris *Comments:* All frozen 4-5″, variable surface, even the rain-zambonied snow patches are pebbled/rough but well navigable.
Kevin Andersson (NNI) *TIme:* Today (Report submitted: Today 17:04) *Link:* nni.skridsko.net/skridskonet/isobservationer/isobservationer-v.asp?ID=429879 *Number:* 429879
