As you all no doubt know, National Firewood Day is fast approaching. Following on the heels, or rather hearts, of Valentines Day, this ancient Druid holiday is no doubt designed to keep the fires of Love kindled on the 14th burning for the remainder of the year. But as you all know, though Love is wonderful, it doesn’t keep the cabin warm- for that we need…..firewood. The supply is running low and although this means we have had a great winter, many of the Cabinites want to continue wasting the next month or so dozing in those comfy chairs by the soporific stove. So Saturday we plan to rectify this urgent situation. Starting at 0900 Ian and I plan to chunk up a couple of trees that fell during Fiona’s visit, and hopefully are nice and dry. These chunks will need to be pulled to the Lodge for eventual splitting and that is where we are seeking a bit of assistance. So if you are in the neighborhood Saturday morning any time after 1000, please stop by and haul a bit of wood. Easiest skiing today will be before the snow starts when everything will slow down, though even this morning glide will only be 2-2.5/4. Bucky plans to groom tomorrow morning again.. And Saturday is also the Potluck at the curling Club commencing at 5:30 with mingling and eating around 6:00, with hopefully a brief meeting squeezed in somewhere.
