Thursday Thouroughfares

The glide, which was a bit slow early today is back up in the 2.5-3/4 range with still soft snow in the pole tracks. Grip is good with even wax working. Still a few bits of humus poking out on Red, but in general the track is in great shape. Just a reminder about hill etiquette- not a big issue in the morning when all you have to worry about is the occasional “Distance Challenger” barreling toward you, but as the day progress and on weekends be wary. The descending skier has the right of way, but, it is their responsibility to watch out for and especially alert the ascending athlete who invariably has their head down and their faces grimacing in pain. So even though some of us coast through life with poor communication skills, this is not OK when speeding toward a fellow skier. You can say “Hello” or “Track” or “Piste” or “on your left”, they will all work. Have fun,
