Signing off

When I checked early this afternoon there was 3-4 cm of dense snow on the Access Road, the snow that has been melting on impact here in the lowlands will be adding to the base and the cooler temps tonight

Sunday skiing

Although there is still a lot of snow on most of the trails, it is rock hard, the track is negligible, there is lots of debris, and many bare areas. This description I am sure is very appealing, but I

Grooming

Bucky will be grooming by around 1030. This will get rid of most of the debris and skiing will be pretty sweet by noon or so. Expect glide to be around 3 initially but slow as the temp rises above

Spring Skiing has arrived!

With warming temperatures we enter a new phase of the ski cycle. Once temps are above freezing for several hours(5-10 degree-hours is a good guide- e.g. 2 degrees above freezing for 3 hours=6 degree-hours), then the snow is usually soft

Ok Conditions

The flurries from late yesterday which ground glide to a 1/4 transformed overnight so glide is back up to a 2.5-3/4. The pole track is not as soft as yesterday but still snow plowable. The sun is stunning.

Welcome to the Tantramar Outdoor Club! Membership is not required to enjoy our ski, snowshoe, and hiking trails—all are welcome to explore for free. Check our trails page for maps and what trails are winter use only. Non-members can contribute through trail-use donations at the Crooked Tree Trail's entrance or support us online. The trails are developed and maintained by volunteers of the club in cooperation with the town of Tantramar as well as numerous private landowners on this unceded land of the Mi’kma’ki.
