Several of us have taken bad tumbles after striking gravel/rock whilst descending over the past week- yes even this writer occasionally fails to read his own advice. So many of our hills have gravel or rock bases- CTTrail, Doncaster Bypass, hills behind Don Pond, the Quarry Road, DOT quarry etc. and often these areas have the double devilry of coniferous canopy. So don’t be shy to remove skis or at any rate take caution when descending and assume there will be rocks. Despite this doom and gloom, skiing remains quite pleasant. Bucky and I aborted his efforts to groom yesterday because just not enough snow to groom- my glasses are clearly way too rose colored! Bucky did flat pack a track in Beech Hill where skiing in the field is lovely and a great venue for the hill averse. Just be a little cautious if you are descending on the road- best to come come back via the serpentine trail from the bottom of the field and keeping right. The sun beckons, the fire in SBLodge will be on shortly,
